Younger brother.

Background

Jiro was born as a younger brother to Haku. They grew up in feudal Japan, in a rather poor region. Being part of a family that thought honour was incredibly important was hard for Jiro. He was a free spirit, unlike Haku. Despite this, the brothers were inseperable.

Once he got a little older, Jiro left, unsatisfied with the wishes of their parents, to join the revolution against such oppresive forces. Stealing food, money and goods from the rich - sometimes lesser rich - he got a knack for crime. He picked up the ability to use swords and left behind a trail of chaos.

He continued like this for a long time. One day, when they had turned into their thirties, he and his brother Haku faced one another. Haku had followed in his parents' footsteps by following their code of honour. It was like watching two opposites in a standoff. Jiro did not want to fight Haku - he imagined Haku thought the same - and despite the heavy fight, he never imagined he would actually kill Haku over this.

Haku thought differently.

So there Jiro was, sword sticking through his stomache, dying slowly.

If he were to die like this, so be it. At least he took down Haku's arm with him. An eye for an arm, so to say. He accepted his brother's betrayal (though there was grief in his eyes for the relation that had died), accepted his death. He then transformed into an esk by Key'to. Confused, Jiro asked many questions, content with the situation, yet there's still a piece of him that revealed to Key'to he had some unsolved business with his brother. Key'to, unbenownst to Jiro, then transformed Haku too.

Though Haku and Jiro both live in the same biome, they do not talk. Jiro, though he pretends he doesn't care, isn't sure how he feels. Haku's past intent to kill him certainly plays a role, even though Haku showed regret.

You are always allowed to draw Jiro!! I'd love to see how you would draw him. Writing is also totally super (gosh I love writing), but do ask me what you want to write about so I might help you out! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask! :)

Personality

Jiro, despite his very dark, intimidating appearance, is actually a very peace-loving esk that radiates calmness. He likes meditating and reading old scrolls that he finds in the old temple he stays in. He thinks before he speaks, is often very content and is humble in his speech, but you will almost never see him happy or express happiness. Even his creator, Key'to, who he respects immensely, cannot change this.

You will often see him sitting silently letting birds sit on him, thinking and pondering. Sometimes he goes out to find new scrolls to read or to talk to other esks that seek knowledge.

Jiro dislikes the idea of 'honour' and a love for family. Therefore, Jiro will try and strongly convince you that such concepts are foolish and will only slow you down.

In Haku's prescence Jiro often tries to keep his interactions with him to a minimum, wanting to leave as soon as possible. He wants no confrontation of any sort, as this might dig up dark thoughts he does not wish to talk about.
